Affiliate Marketing Tips: How Important Are Graphics When Selling Online?

So, how important are graphics when selling online? I’m here to tell you they are extremely important. We are in the business of providing you with affiliate marketing tips that will help you make money and build an online business that can sustain you through the current tough economic times.

And we don’t see a lot in the way of advice on the importance of using graphics. The truth is, with video now such a huge part of the online landscape going to a page which just presents an article and nothing else is almost a turn off. Well, that’s how I tend to see it now.

Graphics can make all the difference in driving home the point. We’re talking about photos, images and anything that can relate to what you are talking about that can break up an article. Images are powerful. They are lasting and just think of the great moments in human history since photography was around. The most memorable moments for me are those caught on film.

To illustrate just how powerful images are; you go to a restaurant and scan the menu. Your eyes are immediately drawn to the images are they not? Mine are. And in my case, because I can see what something looks like, it’s a fair bet that’s what I’ll order.

So where can you get great images for your website? I use both paid and free options. My favorite paid services are iStockphoto and Clip Art. But you don’t need to use paid images if you are just starting out. There are so many excellent free options available. Another thing you need to be careful of is misinterpreting the term free. Many images come with conditions. This is where you need a slight education on being able to use them.

Ray La Foy has posted an excellent guide on his blog BestTenTips.com and talks about using images and what you need to be aware of. He also posts the best online graphics sources online. This is a definite bookmark page so make sure you save it somewhere so you can refer to it often. Here’s a little of what he says:

While there are literally hundreds of image sites online, along with google’s image search – many of there have serious issues:

1 – Restrictive usages, such as okay for personal use only
2 – No rights to use the image what-so-ever (most all google image results)

3 – Images that require links back to the source

4 – Poor image search tools

5 – High Cost for usage

6 – Outdated and low quality…..
