In actual fact, it’s like going fishing – the article is the bait that reels in the fish and then you need to be able to direct them to a landing page where your offers are.

Here’s how to make an article visually attractive. Just making this small change can add up to more readers sticking around to read your entire article.

When I started as an online marketer several years ago one of the skills I brought to the table was writing ability. As a journalist,  writing was a big part of my life and at the time, I thought I could simply transfer that ability to marketing online.  Search engine optimization was something I learned after several months and didn’t realize how important it was to article writing online. The title is so important it cannot be understated. It’s your shop front window. It’s where your main display is going to be presented and needs to be compelling enough to make the reader want to click through to read your article.

Remember, you’ve written your article around your main keyword phrase. If your reader has come across your term in the search results your title is usually going to be listed in bold. It’s your lead-off batter and if it’s weak, it will get struck out.

Okay, here’s what I do to maximize my title for both the search engines and to peak a reader’s interest in clicking through to the article. The title not only has to be keyword specific but should give the reader some hint of what the article is about.

In the final analysis, it’s not that difficult to SEO optimize an article title. Once you attract them to your article and your content is what they are looking for, then your chances of getting them to click through from your resource box to your landing page increases significantly.

That means thinking about what they would type into a search box and if thwhat they are typing had some intent about it. Choosing a keyword you think looks a winner is not enough. Even though it meets all the criteria you set including required number of monthly searches and competition numbers, knowing what competition you’re up against is vital.

For example, you may have a keyword that appears to have little competition for you to rank on the first page of Google so you go ahead and create an article or post around it and suddenly find you can’t make it to page one on the search results.

What’s the problem?

The strength of the competition you’re going up against.  What if the sites ranking on the first page of Google for that keyword term are all top level domains with authority. The recommends factor is huge and because they trust you they are likely to take more notice of a link recommending a product than one that doesn’t. Make sense. So how do you re-direct an affiliate link without buying software. It’s actually pretty easy and the following video will demonstrate just how easy it is.
