One of the most commonly asked questions we see asked especially by newbies is “how do I get page one rankings on Google?” Reasonable question but one of the things I get peeved about is that despite giving people the answer, many still ignore it and go looking for the secret solutions.

Like there is some secret code out there or a holy grail that someone knows about but are not telling? People are always asking how do I get more traffic to my blog? I’m going to tell you but you’d better use the information I give you.

Folks, I used to be one of those people who needed convincing that the secret on how to get more free traffic from Google was simply applying a few simple principles that are found free online. Yes, I said free. In fact, I’m going to give you the “secret formula” on how to attract more targeted traffic to your blog today.

Originally I planned to have a little bit of a rant and feel pretty much in the mood to do so after quitting a smoking habit recently but it continues to get me upset every time I see a new course emerge online on how to get page one on Google. The truth is, it’s not hard to get ranked on page one on Google. In fact, the three rules below is a short version of how to get onto Google’s first page.

I have hundreds of first page listings but getting a page one ranking is one thing, getting page one rankings that translate into buyers and income is another. It’s two totally different things and will talk about the “buying ranking” in an upcoming post.

Here’s a crash course on how to get first page rankings on Google in three steps:

You create unique content that people want to read and share. That’s what Google loves. Do this from the outset on a new blog and you will be in Google Heaven.

Get high quality backlinks. Sure, many of you will say…how? My two favorite methods are (1) to find high ranking do follow blogs in your niche and in many cases, it doen’t even need to be in your niche and leave value-added comments and (2) guest post for other sites by writing good quality helpful articles and asking other webmasters to publish them on their sites. You have a couple of links added.

Make sure you create on page keyword optimized sites.

Sure, there’s more involved to the three steps above but seriously, that’s it in a nutshell. And the great thing is, it’s all available for free online if you search for it. There is no secret magic formula. Google just asks you to do some simple things and one of the reasons people ignore it is because it takes work. Plain and simple.

Yes, there are more advanced strategies which you will eventually learn such as James Martell’s Affiliate Boot Camp but if you are new then until you can afford such courses, keep it simple and you will get plenty of page one rankings on Google.
