How Do You Find Buying Keywords?

So, how do you find buying keywords? It’s becoming one of the most asked questions I get across my desk each week and in this short post, I going to give you the top four places I go to get them.

Keyword research is so important to the overall success of your affiliate marketing campaigns and yes, you need to get it right from the start. But too many folks obsess over it to the point of frustration and the truth is, it needs to be kept simple.

The bottom line is; you don’t want keywords that just attract people to your blog to browse and do research, you want people coming to your blog who are ready to buy or in a buying mood. Buyers keywords are so different to awareness and research keywords.

What you want is people coming to your blog just looking for confirmation about their decision to buy and you have the solution to their problem. In other words, you want them buying from you. Not researching your site for information and then going somewhere else to make the purchase. You attract those people with buyer’s keywords.

Too many people are obsessed with getting lots of traffic. Yes, traffic is good but it’s not much use to you when all people are doing is looking for information and free stuff. With buying keywords, you’ll get less traffic but your income will go through the roof so to speak and that’s a good thing isn’t it. So put the egos away and forget about trying to get a million people to your blog who just want to suck up your bandwidth.

How Do You Find Buyer’s Keywords

Here are four ways to find buying keywords.

1. This is my favorite. Go to Amazon and let them give you the keyword phrases that convert into sales. For example, explore the books related to your niche. Did you know you can preview these books. Look at their table of contents and index. Read the first couple of chapters and write down what the author is saying you are going to learn and achieve. Read the reviews and jot down the terms and phrases people are using.

2. Forums are a great place to get buying keyword phrases from. Visit the forums in your niche and simply write down what the people are asking.

3. Look at the magazine covers the next time you visit your local book store. Look at Magazines.com (http://www.magazines.com) and read the covers. You will get some excellent ideas for buyer’s keywords from these.

4. Visit You Tube and look at the videos in your niche. See what solutions the presenters are solving and put a question to them. Look at the keywords they are using to attract people to the videos.

That’s it. Short and sweet and that’s the way it should be. Okay, this can take an hour or two but in that time, you will have enough ammunition to last you for a long time. It shouldn’t be complicated and this definitely isn’t.

In a nutshell, just find what people are asking in relation to solutions to problems they have. Make sense?

Figuring out how to write internet marketing articles starts with putting yourself in the shoes of a searcher and mimicking what they would be looking for and how they would go about it.

That means thinking about what they would type into a search box and if thwhat they are typing had some intent about it. You see, the biggest mistakes inexperienced article marketers make is either writing an article from scratch without a rudder or writing the article around a broad term where the competition is just too much for them to see any concrete results.

What do we mean about “writing an article from scratch without a rudder?” Simply not optimizing their article around a keyword. Yes it happens and there must be literally millions of pieces of content floating around the internet basically drifting aimlessly without much attention.

How to write an article that gets attention begins with keyword research. It’s the first leg of a four leg relay in constructing an internet marketing article piece that will get noticed with the title, content and resource box completing the relay. Mess anyone of these up and you suddenly put yourself on the back foot against your competition.

How To Analyze Keywords For Profit

Learning how to analyze keywords for profit becomes easy once you know how. Using expensive keyword tools is an option and something you should seriously consider once you start making money online but for now, all you need are the free resources offered at Google.

Choosing a keyword you think looks a winner is not enough. Even though it meets all the criteria you set including required number of monthly searches and competition numbers, knowing what competition you’re up against is vital.

For example, you may have a keyword that appears to have little competition for you to rank on the first page of Google so you go ahead and create an article or post around it and suddenly find you can’t make it to page one on the search results.

What’s the problem?

The strength of the competition you’re going up against. What if the sites ranking on the first page of Google for that keyword term are all top level domains with authority. Trying to compete against authority sites who have a ton of backlinks and are well established is going to end up in frustration for you.

Doing keyword research marketing can be one of the most challenging tasks especially for new people online. Internet marketing has become a competitive area and for those blazing the online marketing trail for the first time as a means of earning extra income, it can be laden with explosive mines.

Many look for free keyword research marketing tips when they first venture into internet marketing simply because they are limited by budget meaning expensive keyword research tools need to be put on hold. We showed you in the previous video tutorial how to find a list of keyword phrases using Google’s free tools and now, we will show you how to find relevant terms to your main term that you can further optimize for such as writing content for your sites and article directories.

Keyword research continues to baffle a lot of people especially those who are getting started in internet marketing or haven’t been working online for too long.

I always maintain that while keyword research is important to the success of any campaign – get it wrong and you may as well not bother, too much time is spent on it. We’ve mentioned how over complicated people make keyword research. The truth is, it should not be and by keeping it simple you are cutting down on the risk of getting into that paralysis analysis mode.

Today, we will show you a quick and easy keyword research method that will not only give you some great long tail phrases “on the fly” but will give you the seeds to grow your keyword list continuously. Honestly, it has never been easier. Yes, there are some great keyword tools out there and I own some of them but the truth is, for real time research, Google is hard to beat and it’s for free!

Google continues to improve it’s search facility and because it’s free, many overlook some of the powerful features it continues to add. Google also is a little lax in letting us know about them so it’s a matter of being aware and alert to them.
Google Is Your Secret Keyword Research Weapon

Have you noticed when you begin to type a search term into the box that a drop down menu will suddenly appear and you’ll get a list of suggested phrases? Do you ignore or dismiss this simply because it’s free and anything that doesn’t cost you you’re hard-earned can’t be too valuable? Well, think again. As far as keyword selection is concerned, this is one of the more powerful tools you’ll come across without outlaying any money.

The point is, Google is the king of search. When they give you these suggestions they are giving you real time data. Many keyword suggestion tools fall down in this area. Just think, Google is actually giving you terms people are looking for and in real time. For article marketing purposes, this is an excellent way to grab searched for long tail keywords on the fly.

Here’s an example. Let’s search for the term dog training. Now dog training itself is a term that gets 36,000,000 results so it’s not a good term to go after. But here’s what happens when you begin typing it into the Google search box. Google starts to give you a list of suggested terms related to the term dogs in the drop down. Google is actually pre-empting what you are looking for and they’ve become so sophisticated at doing this that they can just about read your mind.

I suggest writing down any three word terms that take your attention on the way to writing out the term dogs. Here’s the list I got when I did this exercise for the purposes of this newsletter for the term dogs:

dog training

dog training at home
dog training books
dog training tricks
dog training collars
dog training advice
dog training schools
dog training videos
dog training supplies
dog training collars reviews
dog training hand signals

So we have a list of ten keyword suggestions from Google. These are the five I’m interested in…dog training collars reviews, dog training hand signals,dog training advice,dog training schools and dog training tricks.

So now I have five key phrases to work with. You can either write five articles around each of these terms or do some further analysis. I generally do further analysis and we’ll get into that in the post. You’ll want to check things like how competitive the phrase is and competing pages but for now, I have a platform of five keywords to work with and it took me no time at all.

But here’s the beauty of doing this. With the keywords you have, drill down again and type each one back into the Google search box. Bingo! More search term suggestions from his “royal highness” Google. Also don’t forget to test both singular and plural. What started out as typing one term into the search box suddenly grows to many. That’s why you’ll virtually never run out of keyword phrases to write around.

Keyword research is one of the most challenging aspects of internet marketing especially for those just getting started. My question is why?

Seriously, keyword research should not be complicated. Too many people fuss over it as if it’s something that they must get absolutely right or else they will fail. Don’t get me wrong but yes you need to get it right but it doesn’t have to be as difficult as some would lead you to believe.

When next you are in an internet marketing forum look to see how many times the subject of keyword research comes up. In this post, I’ll give you a simple way of figuring out quickly what people are really searching for.

Keyword Research Is Not That Difficult At All…

The truth is, keyword research is not that difficult but it seems when someone is actually put to the test an intimidation factor comes into play and there is a natural inclination to want to get it right first time.

This then leads to a type of paralysis analysis; people start looking around for a keyword research tool, not just any keyword research tool but one which will spit out only the right keywords. Then the questions begin…what tool do you recommend? Should I use Wordtracker or Keyword Elite? What about Keyword Discovery or Traffic Travis? How about Niche Bot or Niche Inspector?

We’ve all been there but the bottom line is, keyword research shouldn’t be complicated.

Give Me Some Juicy Keywords!

Now, the reason for this post – being able to assess a particular niche and figuring out what people are really searching for. There is a little psychology involved here but when you get the hang of it, this type of analysis will literally improve your bottom line.

Let’s start. We’re looking for a common theme when we are presented by a list of keywords. You can use any free tool for this exercise.

We are using the search term “fibromyalgia.” First impressions indicate most people searching for fibromyalgia will be looking for a cure or treatment. I’m using Wordtracker’s free tool. Here’s the list of top ten results

183   signs symptoms of fibromyalgia

What’s the first thing you notice? If you said the word symptoms then you’re right.You see, I assumed people would be looking for a cure and as there is no cure then treatment of this syndrome. But the results indicate people want to know what the symptoms are and what is fibromyalgia ahead of treatment.

Five of the top ten results relate to symptoms which means targeting this theme will be the sensible way to go. You can now construct your articles around fibromyalgia symptoms and if you are using article marketing, then you have a list of keywords to concentrate on for your promotions.

It’s a classic case of people looking to identify a problem before they can start looking for a solution to it and by giving them the information they want, you can then get them to opt into your list and then you can provide them with treatment options by way of affiliate products.

So in summing up, when you initially look at a list of keywords, try to identify what the theme of the list is before looking at individual keywords first. The first 10-20 results will often indicate exactly what it is people within that particular niche are more concerned about above anything else.
